A specially curated tour designed for the Khareef monsoon season, showcasing Salalah at its most spectacular green state with active waterfalls and cloud-filled valleys.
The Khareef monsoon transforms Salalah into a tropical wonderland, and this specially designed tour captures every magical moment. From July to September, the Dhofar mountains come alive with cascading waterfalls, misty valleys, and lush green carpets of vegetation that seem impossible in the Arabian Peninsula. Our expert guides know exactly where to find the best waterfall views, the most photogenic cloud formations, and the quietest spots to experience the monsoon magic.
The tour begins with a visit to the majestic Wadi Darbat, where seasonal waterfalls cascade down limestone cliffs into the natural lake. You will enjoy a boat ride on the misty waters while surrounded by green mountains. Next, we drive through the fog-shrouded mountain passes to reach Jabal Samhan, where you will literally stand above a sea of clouds that blankets the valleys below. The experience of watching clouds drift beneath your feet is truly unforgettable.
In the afternoon, we visit the seasonal waterfalls of Ayn Athum and Ayn Khor, which only flow during the Khareef season. The dense mist and continuous drizzle create a mystical atmosphere that photographers and nature lovers adore. The tour includes a traditional Omani lunch served under the shade of mature trees, and we provide rain ponchos and umbrellas to keep you comfortable during the drizzle.

All our private tours are tailored specifically for your group. You will have a dedicated local Omani guide who also acts as your driver, providing a comfortable, informative, and private experience. The schedule can be adjusted dynamically based on your interest, walking pace, and weather conditions.
We utilize modern, clean, air-conditioned 4WD vehicles (such as Toyota Land Cruisers or Nissan Patrols) for all mountain and desert safaris. Sedan vehicles are used for standard city heritage tours. Child seats can be provided upon request at no extra charge. Our drivers are trained in off-road sand driving and mountain pass safety.
When visiting religious and local heritage sites (such as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque or local castles), strict dress codes apply. Both men and women must cover their shoulders and knees. Women must cover their hair and wear full-length sleeves and trousers/skirts when entering the grand mosque. Modest swimwear is acceptable at private resort beaches, but shorts and t-shirts are recommended on public beaches.
Dhofar experiences two distinct seasons. The Khareef monsoon (June to September) features near-constant light drizzle, mist, and cooler temperatures. Hiking paths can be muddy, and waterfalls are active. During this season, sea swimming and boat cruises are completely suspended due to rough waves. The dry winter season (October to May) offers warm sunshine, blue skies, and calm seas, which are perfect for snorkeling, diving, and desert camping.
We recommend booking at least 3 months in advance for the peak Khareef season (July and August) due to exceptionally high demand. To secure your reservation, a deposit may be requested. Cancellations made up to 48 hours before the tour departure are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours or no-shows are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
Our prices are calculated per vehicle/group (up to 4 travelers). This offers excellent value for families and couples, as you get a private guide and vehicle for a flat rate.
