Experience both the lush greenery of Eastern Dhofar and the dramatic coastal cliffs of the West. Includes Wadi Darbat, Marneef Cave, and Mughsail beach.
This comprehensive full-day expedition is our most popular private tour, offering a perfect blend of Dhofar's green wadis and its dramatic, rugged coastlines. Designed to showcase the complete natural diversity of Salalah, you will travel in a luxury 4x4 vehicle with an experienced local guide, starting from the historic fishing villages of the east and ending at the giant marine cliffs of the west.
The day begins in the East with a visit to the panoramic Taqah Cliff viewpoint, offering sweeping views of the Arabian Sea, followed by a tour of the historic Taqah Castle to learn about traditional Omani family life. We then visit the UNESCO ruins of Sumhuram (Khor Rori), the ancient port where the Queen of Sheba is said to have shipped frankincense to Rome. Next, we ascend into the green hills of Wadi Darbat, where we enjoy a motorboat cruise on the natural lake and a traditional picnic lunch under the shade of mature trees.
In the afternoon, we head west past the Salalah commercial port to Marneef Cave and the famous Mughsail Blowholes. Here, you will witness the raw power of the Indian Ocean as seawater geysers shoot up to 30 meters through holes in the limestone boardwalk. The final highlights include driving the spectacular zig-zag road down to the untouched sands of Al Fizayah Beach, where wild camels roam along the shore, before watching a memorable sunset from the Mughsail cliffs.

All our private tours are tailored specifically for your group. You will have a dedicated local Omani guide who also acts as your driver, providing a comfortable, informative, and private experience. The schedule can be adjusted dynamically based on your interest, walking pace, and weather conditions.
We utilize modern, clean, air-conditioned 4WD vehicles (such as Toyota Land Cruisers or Nissan Patrols) for all mountain and desert safaris. Sedan vehicles are used for standard city heritage tours. Child seats can be provided upon request at no extra charge. Our drivers are trained in off-road sand driving and mountain pass safety.
When visiting religious and local heritage sites (such as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque or local castles), strict dress codes apply. Both men and women must cover their shoulders and knees. Women must cover their hair and wear full-length sleeves and trousers/skirts when entering the grand mosque. Modest swimwear is acceptable at private resort beaches, but shorts and t-shirts are recommended on public beaches.
Dhofar experiences two distinct seasons. The Khareef monsoon (June to September) features near-constant light drizzle, mist, and cooler temperatures. Hiking paths can be muddy, and waterfalls are active. During this season, sea swimming and boat cruises are completely suspended due to rough waves. The dry winter season (October to May) offers warm sunshine, blue skies, and calm seas, which are perfect for snorkeling, diving, and desert camping.
We recommend booking at least 3 months in advance for the peak Khareef season (July and August) due to exceptionally high demand. To secure your reservation, a deposit may be requested. Cancellations made up to 48 hours before the tour departure are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours or no-shows are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
Our prices are calculated per vehicle/group (up to 4 travelers). This offers excellent value for families and couples, as you get a private guide and vehicle for a flat rate.
